We were kindly invited by European Cheeses and the Smelly Cheese Shop in the Adelaide Central Market to learn about French Cheeses! We were very excited as cheese is one of our greatest joys in life!
There is a lot to learn about French cheese that goes beyond its taste, so we luckily had Valerie Henbest take us through an exclusive evening of cheese tasting!
The intimate masterclass took us on a delicious journey, telling the story of each cheese, how they came to be, about the cheesemakers who created them, and the techniques they use to produce them to such high standards. It was an extremely educational experience that we thoroughly enjoyed, as we love learning about food and the history behind it!
We got to taste:
Camembert from Normandy (deliciously oven-baked with garlic and thyme, splash of Lobo Cider & served warm with fresh baguette)
Beaufort from the Alps
Epoisses from Burgundy
Fourme d’Ambert from Auvergne
All paired with delicious sides and iced cold Lobo Cider and/or French Champagne!
It was a nice surprise to see our friend Skinny Fat Travel there too!
Merci Beaucoup for an exceptional evening - and a BIG thanks to Valerie for being such a passionate and engaging host!
