On Friday night we went with some friends to the ‘George 38’ collaboration dinner - Yiasou George X Soi 38
Having tried Soi 38 and hearing amazing things about Yiasou George from our friends that accompanied us, we were all super ecstatic to see what they were gonna plate up for the event. The set menu was a delicious feed - Taking familiar favourites from George’s menu and experimenting with a Thai twist on the dishes left us all very impressed!
The dips - Who would’ve thought you could make hummus and tzatziki taste better than it already does? Well, they sure did!
Small plates were all bursting with flavour, the cauliflower was a standout - even to our friend who is a massive meat lover!
The lamb was simply divine, the meat just fell off the bone and melted in the mouth. Sides accompanied the underlying flavours of the lamb well, and all dishes were seasoned to perfection.
We had to start: Red Curry Hummus w/ red curry oil + curry leaves, Thaizatziki w/ cucumber, green chilli + mint served with warm Pita.
Small plates: Wood Oven King Prawns w/ Nam Jim Talay, Yellow Curry Cauliflower w/ crispy fried basil, Kingfish ‘Goi’ w/ sawtooth coriander.
Large plate: Slow cooked lamb shoulder w/ Massaman gravy
Sides: Cinnamon potato gratin & Adjut salad
Dessert: Sweet potato Khanom Kai Nok w/ mango & coconut sorbet.
