YUKI IN BURNSIDE

After having a mediocre experience at Yuki in the Hills when it first opened, we were apprehensive to try Yuki in Burnside, but enticed by the Omakase as we haven’t seen any other Japanese Restaurants in Adelaide offering it. We opted for the $160 Omakase which included:

SAKIZUKE
Edamame tofu-bonito broth sauce and Zuwai crab

ZENSAI
Yuba (Soybean Skin)
Duck breast
Soy & Ginger marinated prawn
Vinegar cured salmon & cream cheese
Deep-fried kataifi scallop
Baby corn and okra with broth jelly

SASHIMI
Five kinds of sashimi including Toro and Uni or Ikura

YAKIMONO SAKANA
Black cod Saikyo yaki with pickled vegetables

YAKIMONO GYUNIKU
A5 Wagyu beef with stewed vegetables (taro potato, sugar pea, carrot, tomato)

GOHANMONO
Takikomi Gohan (mixed rice with chicken, carrot, mushroom) + soup

DESSERTS
Wasabi icecream
Matcha cream Anmitsu and seasonal fruits

Service was extremely friendly, the food was beautifully presented and the quality of the seafood was exceptional. The only downside was that there wasn’t much variety between the courses, it was very Tuna and Ikura heavy. It would’ve been nice to experience some other fresh cuts like salmon, uni or scallop between the sashimi and sushi courses.

Being big eaters, it meant that unfortunately we left hungry… 🥲

Overall, we wouldn’t come back unless the Omakase offered more dishes and a wider variety between courses.
