Love a good, fast feed at Seoul Express - Dwaeji Gukbap (not featured) is one of our favourites - the white meat broth is so damn tasty! We’ve tried pretty much the entire menu which all have delicious generous servings. Gives you feelings of a delicious home-cooked Korean meal.

Atmosphere: 5/5
Food: 2/5
Service: 1/5
Overall Rating: 8/15
Pricing: $
With an abundance of new restaurants at the new Westfield TTP, we had to try one out.
Beautifully decorated with oriental ornaments. Staff were friendly but clueless, we were asked to order not 2 minutes after being seated and staff never reappeared until we called out. We waited 20 mins for 2 drinks & 2 plates of dumplings, but then waited another 45 mins for the rest of our dishes; which never came, so we decided to leave.
When paying, they claimed that ‘a machine had broken down’. Yet, other tables who came after us were still being served food…? To say the least, we left hangry and dissatisfied! Wish we could rate them better on the food, but we only tried the dumplings which were average…
S2 on FLINDERS
Atmosphere: 2.5/5
Food: 2.5/5
Service: 5/5
Overall Rating: 10/15
Pricing: $$
We've been meaning to try S2 for a long time, and when they appeared on Dimmi with 50% off, it seemed like a great opportunity. Although the restaurant is beautifully decorated, the interior is a tad too dark, and the space was poorly utilised as all the tables were extremely cramped together like canned sardines. Our meal started off extremely promising with the entrées we ordered - Sea Flowers & Thai Fried Chicken were absolutely delicious. When our mains arrived, it went downhill from there...
- Thai green curry was too dense and sweet, and packed with coconut cream, making it more of a pale cream rather than a green curry.
- Pad Thai was too sweet for our liking; noodles were too wet and clumpy, and the serving size was quite small.
- The crispy king prawn green apple salad was a letdown as the sauce didn't have fresh lime but bottled lime juice which ruined the dish.
- The sizzling baby squid with tofu that we ordered was extremely fishy and a bit sandy (staff acknowledged it with an apology and took it off the bill)
- Overall, the dishes that had Spanish onion in it were a bit too much. It is quite potent when raw, and was really overpowering.
The service was great with a friendly team that was welcoming and dealt with our complaint professionally. Overall, we had an average experience but feel like they have lots of potential with room for improvement.
THEA TEA SHOP
Atmosphere: 3.5/5
Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Overall Rating: 11.5/15
Pricing: $$
For all your vegan and vegetarian foodies out there, Thea Tea Shop welcomes you with a spacious interior, and a great menu that caters for all dietary requirements. It is rare to find a place that caters for no onion/garlic/chive, etc... However, despite these alterations due to dietary requirements, the food is still packed with flavour. The Hot Pot is a must-try for those cold winter nights. Some personal dislikes we had included the height of the chairs; they were quite low. Given the atmosphere and the type of food being served, it might be a better option for them to have waiters come around for the order and pay at the end of the meal.
TREASURY 1860
Atmosphere: 5/5
Food: 3/5
Service: 5/5
Overall Rating: 13/15
Pricing: $$$ - $$$$
We visited Treasury 1860 during the 50% off month offer from Dimmi as without the offer, it is quite dear. Overall, the drinks menu had a delicious selection of craft beers and cocktails. In terms of the food side, the Baked Brie with Truffle was delicious. However, like the rest of the menu; everything was consistent and presented beautifully, tasted great, but nothing particularly stood out. The service was outstanding, staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and very knowledgeable about all dishes and drinks. Despite being a fine establishment, we were not given attitude about booking through Dimmi which was also admirable. The interior is extremely beautiful, with the addition of the fireplace giving it a warm, welcoming and cosy interior - perfect for winter!
CREPERIE BRUXELLES
Atmosphere: 3/5
Food: 4/5
Service: 3.5/5
Overall Rating: 10.5/15
Pricing: $
Been here multiple times, mostly for the poffertjes - light, fluffy mini dutch pancakes. They do have other great menu items like crepes, but we mostly revisit just for the poffertjes! The tables are sometimes a bit sticky and service can be a bit hit and miss at times, but for the most part it has a laid back homely feel and the rum butter and vanilla cream melted over a plate of those pancakes make the visit worthwhile...
PORT ELLIOT BAKERY
Atmosphere: 3/5
Food: 4/5
Service: 4/5
Overall Rating: 12/15
Pricing: $$
If you love your baked goods and sweet treats, this bakery is definitely a must-visit. The Nutella Doughnut and Chilli Kransky are must-haves every time we drive up! The pastry for their pies are not too dense; but light, crispy and flaky. They tend to do monthly specials for their doughnuts but we aren't too keen, as they are often too sweet, such as the Golden Gaytime; but the Tiramisu one was pretty good. The prices are a bit up there for a bakery, but the quality and sizes of their items justify it. Seating is very limited and it tends to get very crowded, and sometimes even a line out the door, so if you're visiting on the weekend make sure you get in early!
MATCHA HOUSE
Atmosphere: 4/5
Food: 4/5
Service: 3/5
Overall Rating: 11/15
Pricing: $$-$$$
This is the same Matcha House previously on O'Connell Street. They have now relocated to Grote Street. We ordered the Matcha Waffles, our favourite as they were perfectly crispy on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. The matcha lava cake was extremely moist, and sweetened to perfection; with delicious matcha that oozes out! The matcha latte and bubble tea are only for the extreme matcha lovers as they are on the bitter (and not very sweet) side. Service could be improved overall, staff that attended to us were quite rude and abrupt. When we asked if there was an option for shared plates, we didn't get a very friendly response.
2nd & 6th
Atmosphere: 3.5/5
Food: 3/5
Service: 4/5
Overall Rating: 10.5/15
Pricing: $$$
From previous experience, 2nd & 6th was generally average with 1 or 2 dishes that stood out. A restaurant/bar with a great interior and atmosphere, but uncomfortable stools. Since they were offering a 50% off Dimmi special with a newly launched menu for winter, we thought we would give it another go. The smaller dishes - Baby Squid Tentacles, Grilled Haloumi & the dessert; Breakfast After Dinner, were the only likeable dishes. The duck was a no-go due to the sandy texture, with a medicinal aftertaste. Everything else that we ordered off the menu was just average, leaving us quite disappointed because the dishes were presented beautifully.
